This spring, Dave took his 1990 Corvette ZR-1 on a little spin — just a casual 3,686-mile road trip across the country.
His journey took him to some incredible sights and stops: Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the legendary National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Bonus: he timed it perfectly to attend the annual Michelin Bash — an absolute bucket list event for any Corvette enthusiast.
Gina joined him as they made time to soak up the beauty of two of California’s gems: Sequoia and Joshua Tree National Parks. There’s just something about classic American horsepower surrounded by the quiet majesty of nature.
Bringing Home the Top Flight Award
But the highlight? Entering his ZR-1 into NCRS Flight Judging and bringing home the Top Flight Award. For those not in the know, that’s a serious nod from the National Corvette Restorers Society, recognizing authenticity, condition, and excellence.
It was a trip full of engine rumble, road trip tunes, national treasures, and a healthy dose of Corvette pride. This 35-year-old car started the journey with only 6,500 miles on the clock. It returned with a bit over 10,000 miles.
Dave is already dreaming about the road trip.
